"The early 2010’s established internet music as a genre of intangibility and grace, marked only in the physical world by cyber-tribal tattoos, fake chains, and American Spirit refries. The anonymity of early so-called “vaporwave” artists would also become definitive for the genre of net music (and net art more generally) spearheaded by the mystique of Burial and Daniel Lopatin’s sublime eccojams. These and the artists following them created a new electronic music tradition that was less concerned with duration and vibration, but position and summation of something liminal, letting this ambiguous location take a front seat in the mildew and marijuana scented sedan. Mallsoft creates an audible region within this landscape that most who have grown up in the turn of the 21st century and the ensuing information revolution can recognize. Pastoral for the aging and clinically online Soundcloud obsessives, MEMORYCorp situates itself in the net-ambient tradition and will serve as a reminder of the things we didn’t appreciate (and still don’t) but we are somehow still nostalgic for post-apocalypse…. if you can find that fucking CD you burned of it." - Evan Kallas
